SHOPPING SHUTTLES

GMTA prides itself on being an organization that provides a variety of services to meet the diverse mobility needs of central Vermonters and beyond. One such service is GMTA’s free community shuttles, such as the Hannaford’s Shopping Shuttle and the Northfield Community Shuttle.

The Hannaford’s Shopping Shuttle is a collaborative effort between GMTA and Hannaford’s Supermarket, offering free service to and from the Barre Hannaford’s Supermarket from various senior housing locations in Barre and Williamstown. The Northfield Community Shuttle began operating January 7, 2009, through funding provided by the Vermont Agency of Transportation, as a free service to the community of Northfield. The Northfield shuttle offers vital service to community members to the area food shelf CERV, the local Grand Union and other key locations within town. Each week, the Hannaford’s Shuttle and Northfield Shuttle not only bring shoppers to local grocery store locations, but provide assistance with passenger bags and boarding needs.  Both shuttles are open to the public offering a variety of stop locations, with flexible deviation options available on the Northfield Shuttle.
