Carpooling

Take turns driving with one or more Vermonters who live near you and work close to your workplace. You can choose to carpool every day or just a few times a week and never have to worry about being stranded at work. GMTA's Emergency Ride Home program ensures that you will always get the ride you need in an emergency. Many organizations offer carpoolers incentives such as free or reduced parking or other transit subsidies. Ask your Human Resources Coordinator if your company offers any of these special benefits.

Vanpooling

Vanpooling is another easy and economical way to commute. Cut your costs in half as you ride in comfort and save wear and tear on your car and yourself. We'll help you find a vanpool that's right for your schedule. Do you want to completely eliminate the cost of your commute? Vanpool coordinators ride to work free of charge and have the use of the van on evenings and weekends. Call (802) 223-7BUS for information about leasing a van. Vermont Rideshare will work closely with you to get your van on the road and keep it running. Carpooling and vanpooling are great ways to reduce the stress of daily commuting and do the environment a favor at the same time. But what happens when you suddenly have to work late... when the school calls and asks you to pick up a sick child... when you must get home for people or pets who depend on you?

Emergency Ride Home

GMTA offers all car and vanpoolers enrollment in the Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program. The ERH program gives participants a free taxi ride to their car or destination, 8 times per year, up to $50.00 per ride. Please call 223-7BUS to sign up for this FREE service!
